“Come To A Church Where You’ll Feel Like You’re Part Of A Bigger
Family ― Where You Can Grow Spiritually, Use Your Talents, And Worship on a
More Personal Level!”
From the Desk of Deacon Mark Ellis:
Dear Friends,
You may
think that a little church like ours would aspire to compete with the bigger Baptist
churches in the area. You would be wrong.
We know we’re in an area that has a limited population, and is separated from
one of Kentucky’s largest cities by a river.
However, for every disadvantage, there are the opposite seeds of
advantage.
In large
churches, it’s easy to get lost in the crowd and become anonymous. Many times, believers in Christ will attend a
church without anyone knowing who they are, much less trials and challenges those
members may be facing.
At
Valley View Baptist Church, we know each other. Because we’re in a smaller community,
our church has the advantage of an intimate, more personal congregation. We have a closer bond with our body of believers. We know each other; where we all live, our
values, needs and the interests of our members and their families.
We’re A Church
Family And So Much More!
Spiritual fellowship is a big part of our church. It is not uncommon to see members setting up
individual Bible studies, going out together, or visiting one and other in their
homes.
Being a smaller church means that we are more flexible,
too. It’s so much easier to let our
members know anything new or important that is happening. Our congregation is more connected, able to
talk and act quickly during special events or emergencies.
Even though large, modernized
churches are moving to a very casual approach to their services, we embrace the
heritage of a formal setting. However,
because we’re smaller, we can be flexible with our approach. It’s not uncommon to take special prayers and
sing hymns for individuals and families in need.
We don’t
have slick presentations with “entertainment value” added distractions, and our
Sunday service isn’t cut short by a digital clock. Our worship is spontaneous
as The Lord leads us in His time, with care taken for the consideration of our
members.
Our
pastor is James Ashcraft, and when you visit our church he’ll
personally greet you, and learn a little bit about you and your family. Pastor Jim has been with our church for several
years, and his mission has been to serve the spiritual needs of our community.
Since we’re not a large organization, he has
been able to focus on the desires, requests and divine basics of our assembly. He isn’t burdened with the task of running the
administration of a large, complex organization. Personal evangelism, Bible studies, and the
message of Christ is the epicenter of Valley View Baptist Church, not paperwork.
There’s always something to
do in our church and community. Whether
it’s helping our youth learn about gardening, or becoming a part of our music
ministry, there is always a place where your hand, heart and mind can be of use.
As a matter of fact, the one resource
that we can’t waste is your talent!
Since we don’t have a large
body to draw on, and we’ve so much to do, any gift or ability that you could
contribute would be welcomed. Active participation is vital to our mission.
Valley View
Baptist Church ― Taking The “3 M’s” Very Seriously!
Even though we are not a large
denomination, we take the Mission, Ministry and Message of Christ very seriously. Serving your spiritual life and the needs of
your family is the most important role of our body.
As stated in Matthew 28:19-20,
(19) “Therefore go and make disciples
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, (20) and teaching
them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always,
to the very end of the age.”
The Time For You To Visit Us Is Now!
If there’s a hole in your
spiritual life, or you’re looking for a more intimate church family, the time
to visit our church is right now. The
spiritual protection of you and your family is vital in this day and age. All you have to do is pick up a newspaper, or
watch TV to see the temptations, dangers and moral decline that surround
us. You and your family need to have a
firm moral ground, and support that a church family can give you.
Come to
our Sunday morning worship service, meet our members, and get involved. You
have absolutely nothing to lose, and so much to gain. You may find that we are
just the church that you’ve been looking for!
God Bless,
Mark T. Ellis
